The FYROM government had run up a record-high budget deficit of EUR 91.7 million by June.
While budget losses grew in May, revenues decreased by 9 percent y/y, shows the statistics of the FYROM Ministry of Finance. Since the beginning of this month the budget deficit has doubled in comparison with the same month last year, when it amounted to EUR 59.6 million.
Only in May this year, the government incurred a loss of EUR 14.7 million. Experts comment that such deficit is not that unusual in this period because it usually grows at the end of a year in order to realize delayed capital investments.
